On September 8, the Healthy Schools and Communities team participated in the North East Medical Services Community Fall Festival and Health Fair to celebrate the expansion of their Daly City facilities. Our team featured healthy recipe cookbooks including Kids Get Cookin and the community learned about the San Mateo County Park Rx Program. Many received a free day park pass (courtesy of SMC Parks Foundation) and an invitation to the upcoming Family Community Nature Day. Families were thrilled to learn about our County’s Board of Supervisors Mariposa Program. This Initiative offers a Free San Mateo County Annual Park Pass to residents eligible for public benefits such as Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and CalWORKs. We thank Daly City Mayor Juslyn C. Manalo for stopping by our table to learn about healthy kids’ recipes and efforts for equitable access to nature.
