If your city and/or school is interested in creating safer routes to schools and receiving tailored technical assistance, walk audits, bike and pedestrian maps, and quick build materials for pop-up/demonstration projects near schools, check out this exciting opportunity School Travel fellowship program. This fellowship is offered by the San Mateo County Office of Education for local cities and schools during the 2021-2022 school year. To support this fellowship, Get Healthy San Mateo County is initiating collaboration among East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Redwood City school districts and cities to address the needs of the priority schools identified in our report Creating Safer Streets Near Schools. Please contact Sonali Suratkar at ssuratkar@smcgov.org for more details or to support any school or district in their active transportation efforts.
