When, Where, and How to Vote in San Mateo County

Post

Voting in San Mateo County has officially begun! As of Monday, October 7, over 438,000 ballots have been mailed, and all voting centers and drop boxes are now open.

How to Vote:

  • You can cast your ballot 29 days prior to and on Election Day, either by mail or in person. Voters have the option to use a traditional paper ballot or a ballot-marking tablet at voting centers.
  • If you receive a ballot addressed to someone no longer living at your address, simply mark it “Return to Sender, not at this address,” and place it in the mail or a drop box. There’s also a checkbox on the envelope to indicate this.

Where to Vote:

  • Find your nearest voting center and drop box locations, and learn more about in-person voting options, including accommodations for voters with disabilities, here.
