Unveiling Highlights: Community Impact and Celebration Night

Redwood City Together and Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2) held its Community Impact and Celebration night on April 4. The event’s focus was to highlight the successes of the community collaboration efforts. Leaders from Community Alliance to Revitalize Our Neighborhood (CARON), El Concilio, Family Connections, Friend for Youth, City of Redwood City IDEAL, Pal Center, San Mateo County Health, Siena Youth Center of the St. Francis Center Redwood City, Upward Scholars, and Sequoia were acknowledged for their collaborative efforts. The focus of areas for the next three years include: 

  • Expand mentorship opportunities and connect youth to living wage jobs and skills development opportunities  
  • Adopt universal preschool and expand subsidized preschool spots for lower income families  
  • Engage youth with relevant, personal, and paid experience on youth advisory boards to help shape programming, services, and policies that affect them
