As trusted community members with lived experience, community health workers/promotors (CHW/Ps) have a history of reaching those not well-served by traditional healthcare systems. There is increasing recognition in CA that CHW/Ps are a critical part of the healthcare field. Recent changes to CA’s publicly funded insurance plans allow payment for CHW/P services. Check out the newly released report from the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF). The following are highlights from the report:
