Looking to the Future:  Plan Bay Area 2040 Adoption

Post

Plan Bay Area is the region’s long-range transportation and land use plan. It allocates approximately $300 billion dollars in transportation investments over 25 years, and envisions future growth patterns. After over two years of public engagement, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) adopted the final on July 26. Overall, PBA2040 promotes healthier communities by improving air quality, incentivizing compact communities that will make it easier for residents to be physically active, and continuing to explore opportunities to incentivize the production of affordable housing through transportation dollars. Get Healthy San Mateo County will continue to work with our regional agencies and community partners to ensure that the implementation of PBA2040 maximizes health equity gains for the most vulnerable residents of our region.
