Gloria Cahuich-González, Nutrition Education and Policy Specialist, received countywide recognition as the Women in County Government’s “Public Service – Going the Extra Mile” Honoree. She was acknowledged at the 32nd Annual Holiday Recognition and Charity Luncheon on December 12, 2022. Gloria was nominated by a peer to receive this award because her work exemplifies “Going the Extra Mile”.  Gloria aims to provide the highest quality of service in all she does. She has been with the County for over 20 years and her passion for public service is admirable. Gloria calls her work in nutrition education a “labor of love.” Gloria is effective in connecting with community members because she is proactive. Gloria remains current with partners by signing up for their newsletters and social media accounts, and actively shares this information with her vast network to encourage collaboration. It is her genuine nature and willingness to participate in volunteer efforts that have made her a trusted person in the community.  A donation will be made to the San Mateo County Parks Foundation Youth Program on Gloria’s behalf.
