Democratizing Data Through the First Ever Bay Area Equity Atlas

Post

Earlier this month, a joint venture between PolicyLink, The San Francisco Foundation and the University of Southern California’s Program for Environmental and Regional Equity published a new online tool (the Atlas) to help better understand the state of equity across the Bay Area. Using the San Francisco Foundation’s People, Place and Power equity framework, the Atlas provides data using 21 equity indicators such as race/ethnicity (People), housing burden (Place), and voting (Power). Through powerful resources like this, we’re able to better understand connections such as between housing and traffic that impacts the health of our residents.
