Continued Support for Restorative Justice Practices in Local Schools

Post

San Mateo County schools continue to support a positive school climate and reforms to school discipline by implementing Restorative Justice Practices. With funding from Get Healthy San Mateo County, the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) has partnered with local school districts to train staff and districts to support the development of Restorative Justice Practices Implementation Plans. All schools in Pacifica School District, San Mateo Union High School District, San Mateo-Foster City School District, and Sequoia Union High School have all received training and continue to deepen their Restorative Justice Practices. SMCOE staff worked with Roy Cloud Elementary School to develop an implementation plan to guide their work going forward. It is exciting to see the continued efforts to improve climate and culture in local schools.
