The National Equity Atlas, produced jointly by PolicyLink and the USC Program for Environmental and Regional Equity, released new data on how to build equitable cities and regions with air quality in mind. The Air Pollution Exposure Index shows the Black population is most exposed to air pollution (index of 64).The Air Pollution: Unequal Burden shows how people of color that make up only 37% percent of the total population bore the brunt of the air pollution burden at 41%. Healthy neighborhoods should support the health and safety of all residents, and create a clean environment that allows all residents to be healthy in their communities.
