What’s Fair in San Mateo County and Housing

Post

San Mateo County will conduct an Assessment of Fair Housing to analyze existing and historical patterns of fair housing issues in the County. The analysis will include looking at concentrated areas of poverty and how these relate to location of affordable housing and access to opportunities such as transit, jobs and good schools.  This is a great opportunity to identify and address historical inequities in housing in our community. Research shows that people who live in healthy, affordable places live longer, healthier lives – stable, and affordable housing protects health and provides the ability to engage in healthy opportunities. There will be a stakeholder focus group to explore fair housing issues and barriers to access to opportunities on March 6.  RSVP to participate in the County’s Regional Assessment of Fair housing process.
