The San Mateo County Office of Education is hosting the third County Achievement Gap Summit and Zap the Gap conference on March 9 in Redwood City. This special event will feature speaker Bernard Kinsey and The Kinsey Collection- a collection of African American art and artifacts that combines art and history to tell the often untold story of African American achievement and contribution. Policymakers and practitioners will come together to continue the dialog around how to close the growing achievement gap in our county. Register in advance here. Educational attainment is a key factor in determining lifelong health as people who are highly educated tend to be healthier and live longer. Find more local educational attainment data here.
