Fresh Produce Available at Fair Oaks Clinic

Post

This year, the San Mateo County Medical Center (SMCMC) has prioritized addressing food insecurity experienced by their patients. Staff at SMCMC have worked with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for the medical staff to refer patients to food resources and to address any barriers partners may have providing patients with easy access to healthy foods. The Fair Oaks Clinic partnered with Fresh Approach to allow them to operate the mobile farmer’s market at the clinic once a week. Patients that qualify for federal or state food assistance programs, such as CalFresh (formerly known as SNAP or food stamps), can purchase produce at 50% discount. This partnership enables patients to access fresh and affordable local produce.
