Brisbane Releases Parkside at Brisbane Precise Plan

Post

The city of Brisbane has released its draft precise plan for parts of Central Brisbane and the Crocker Industrial Park. This plan covers twenty-five acres of land and proposes zoning changes that will allow residential development in an area that currently accommodates industrial jobs. The potential residential development of this area lays the groundwork for providing much needed housing in San Mateo County, a step toward increasing affordable housing options and reducing the existing imbalance between jobs and housing. While this proposed plan may bring more housing to the area, the trade-off is the potential loss of the existing jobs in the warehouses. The Planning Commission hosted an open house and workshop on June 22 to provide residents a chance to comment or ask questions about the draft plan. The Planning Commission will host a public hearing on the Draft Plan on Tuesday, July 18.
