There are multiple vacancies on for the City of Daly City, South San Francisco and the County of San Mateo:

Daly City: There are multiple vacancies on the Recreation Commission and the Small Business Commission.

  • The Recreation Commission helps guide the Recreation Department. There are 3 vacancies for the upcoming 3-year term. Applications are open without a submission deadline.
  • The Small Business Commission, composed of small business owners within the City, is tasked with helping business owners and entrepreneurs navigate the challenges associated with creating, owning, and operating a small business within the City. It works to create a fair playing-field for small businesses in Daly City’s highly competitive market. Applications are open without a submission deadline.

 

South San Francisco: There are two upcoming vacancies on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

  • The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) has two vacancies that will be opening in 2026. The BPAC helps create multimodal transportation options that enable safe access for people of all ages and abilities; participates in the development and review of active transportation plans, policies, and regulations; and promotes bicycle and pedestrian safety and awareness through education and outreach. Applications can be submitted on a rolling basis.

 

San Mateo County: There are multiple vacancies across commissions in San Mateo County.

  • The Commission on Aging is seeking applicants for one vacancy representing the County’s diverse communities, gender identities, ethnicities, and experiences, with at least 60% of members to be 60 years and older or can demonstrate experience in addressing the needs of older adults. The commission advises the Board of Supervisors and San Mateo County Health Aging and Adult Services, develops and conducts programs aligned with provisions of Older Americans Act of 1965. Applications should be submitted by September 12.
  • The Agriculture Advisory Committee has one open seat for a conservationist. This committee guides perseveration of agriculture production in the County. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • The Behavioral Health Commission has three vacancies. The Commission reviews and evaluates the County’s mental health and substance abuse disorders needs, services, facilities and special problems, agreements; and advises the Board of Supervisors and the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Director of any aspect of the local mental health and substance abuse disorders services and programs. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • The Commission on Disabilities has six vacancies. The commission promotes programs that address quality of service and positive attitude about people with disabilities; reviews and report on availability and accessibility of community services to people with special needs; and establishes a channel of communication with the community to garner input and educate the public to the needs of persons with disabilities. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • The Farmworker Advisory Commission is seeking applicants for three vacancies, two farmworkers and one agriculture industry representative. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
