Youth eligible voters (citizens between 18-24 y/o) make up 11% of all San Mateo County eligible voters.Youth Eliue Yet, only 6.3% of those eligible young voters voted in the 2018 general election. The gap between eligible youth voters and youth casting their votes was narrower in the 2018 general election compared to 2010 general election. Lower rates of voting hinders youths’ ability to inform policies that will impact the health of their communities.
