Average Age of Death

Methods

  • Data were obtained from the San Mateo County Vital Statistics’ 2011 Death Data Files.

Limitations

  • Average age of death does not take into consideration where individuals have lived and therefore social, economic, and environmental conditions they have experienced where they lived previously.

Overweight and Obesity

  • Data were obtained from the Healthy Community Collaborative of San Mateo County’s 2013 Community Health Needs Assessment: Health & Quality of Life Survey.

Limitations

  • 1,724 adult residents of San Mateo County were interviewed via phone and cell phone, or approximately one percent of the population.
  • Oversampling and weighted response calculations were done for population equivalent.
  • Data were estimated from survey responses.
  • Estimates have some chance of error.
  • Estimates for Asians and Pacific Islanders could not be disaggregated.
