The School Wellness Committee meets every fourth Thursday of the month from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m at the Sequoia Health Care District, located at 525 Veterans Blvd. in Redwood City.

Mission

The committee’s mission is to provide a forum for San Mateo County school district staff, students, families, and other interested people to collaborate on school wellness issues and exchange ideas, resources, best practices and tools to support coordinated school health and district wellness policies.

Activities

County Walk to School Day Initiative October 5, 2011
Walk to School Day brings parents, teachers, children, and community leaders together every October to focus on the importance of physical activity, safety and walkable communities. A Walk to School Day event at your school encourages youth and parents to choose walking as an active, safe and healthy means of transportation to school.
