The California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division, is pleased to announce the Directors of Health Promotion and Education (DHPE) is now accepting applications for the 2011-12 School Employee Wellness Awards Program. The awards program was created to recognize schools and school districts that demonstrate commitment to the health of their employees by implementing school employee wellness programs. Any school-public or private-that serves children between grades kindergarten through grade twelve and is establishing or has implemented a school employee wellness program is eligible to apply. Interested schools must submit applications and supporting materials online by February 15, 2012; no paper submissions will be accepted for this year's award program.
